Governors

Welcome to the Governors' Page

The Governing Body of Grace Mary Primary School consists of 5 parent Governors; 3 Local Authority Governors; 3 staff Governors (two teaching, one non teaching) and 3 Community Governors. The main aim of the Governing Body is to ensure that each and every child as the opportunity to reach their full potential within the financial constraints imposed upon the school.

The current group of Governors are a diverse group of people (made up of men and women) with different skills and experiences. Their experience of Governance ranges from new Governors who have only joined the Governing Body since Sept 06, to Governors who have 12 years + experience.

All Governors enjoy supporting the school, staff and pupils, and are looking forward to becoming more proactive over the forthcoming months and building better and stronger relationships with the staff and school. In order to achieve this we have nominated Governors for all subject areas and from September 06 we will have Year Group Governors. (Hopefully this will allow Governors to get to know the staff and children and more importantly for the staff to get to know the Governors). We also have various sub committees (Finance, Curriculum, Staffing and Health & Safety) which meet on a regular basis to discuss the various issues that arise within school. All minutes from these meetings plus the Full Governing Body Meetings will appear on the website once they have been ratified. (Updated on a termly basis).

It is a challenging time to be a Governor with lots of new initiatives taking place and all Governor relish these challenges, and look forward to having the opportunity of working along side the Staff to make Grace Mary a safer, healthier and a more enjoyable place to learn.

Should you wish to contact a Governor on any matter, then contact should be made via the School Office. Representatives of the Governing Body will be in school on Parent Evenings should you wish to talk to us.
