Your child has now entered an important stage of their primary school experience: this is the year of the Key Stage 2 (KS2) end of year attainment tests (SATS) which mark the end of your child’s learning journey at Grace Mary Primary School. Many parents at this time can feel quite apprehensive, however, the reality is, the SATs tests do not assess all what makes your child special and unique.
While you do need to be mindful of the end goal for this year, it is also important to see it for the wonderful year that it is. The grades your child will get from his/her tests will tell you something, but they will not tell you everything. So while we are working hard preparing for the tests and in the midst of it all, remember that there is no way to ‘test’ all of the amazing and awesome things that make your child the special individuals they are!
Finally, the final year at Grace Mary Primary School will see your child being encouraged to work more independently in readiness for high school and this page aims to help you to understand what your child will be learning and suggest helpful ways in which you can support him/her at home.
