Raising a family is one of the most challenging things any of us will ever do.
Children need love, attention, patience, meals, clothes, guidance and boundaries – often all before 8.30 in the morning!
Sometimes as parents we have our own issues to deal with, or circumstances such as disability, moving to a new area or family conflict which can make the challenges even greater.
It’s not surprising that sometimes many of us find it hard to cope.
Our vision for effective parenting is that there will be no stigma attached to parents seeking help to strengthen their parenting skills in order to support their children and raise aspirations. Most people become parents with excitement and anticipation, but the pressures of today’s world can make parenthood difficult and isolating. Parenting programmes provide opportunities to learn and improve skills, often before problems arise, or indeed, before becoming a parent. They also provide a chance to meet and share experiences with other parents and make new friends.
