Year 3

Home Learning: Picture of the Week Writing Task

It has been wonderful to see the fantastic work that year 3 have been doing at home. During our home learning projects, we have learned lots about Extreme Weather such as tornadoes and floods, where we had a go at designing our own flood resistant home! Last week our topic was Rocks and Soils where we revisited our previous learning about fossils and how they are formed.

Keep up the good work year 3, I can't wait to see what you come up with next! Please continue to send in more of your fantastic work.

Stay safe,

Miss Flavell

Our Wonderful Work!

In music we have been enjoying learning how to play the Ukulele. We know all about the names of each string, and the different parts of the instrument. We have even learnt how to play some exciting new songs that we sing and play along to using different dynamics. We are all on our way to becoming fantastic musicians!

In Topic, we have been learning all about Prehistoric Britain, and what it was like to live in the Stone Age. We have also used this knowledge to help us to unpick Prehistoric Cave Art in our art lessons, and will soon be making cave art pieces of our very own!

We have all produced some excellent pieces of writing for English, and have been able to describe different characters using our SPaG tricks - I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

After learning lots about place value in maths, we are now moving onto addition and subtraction. We have been working with numbers all the way up to 1000 and have been practicing out times tables every day.

Well done everyone, what a great start to year 3!
