Forest School is an opportunity for your child to experience nature and the outdoors in a safe and secure environment it is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning.

Giving children the opportunity to explore the outdoor environment, in a safe and exciting way. Enjoying the freedom of self-discovery and coming as one with the natural environment.

The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences. Children are encouraged to investigate & explore but also to respect all living things, and children learn best from first hand experiences. Exploring, playing and learning using a range of activities. Most activities are, (both designed by the leader and instigated by the children themselves) to allow the children to investigate and problem solve. This will help develop independent, self-motivated thinkers which is what forest school is all about.

There is no limit to the experiences and curiosities that Forest School can bring. Children discover potential, abilities and interests that surprise themselves and others. Building a sense of independence, high self-esteem and team work are important parts of forest school, but health and safety considerations are always of paramount importance. Safety codes provide clear boundaries and learning goals give clear direction, but energy and inspiration come from all around. Broadening horizons is an inevitable outcome

We do a detailed health and safety as well as risk assessment check of the site before visiting with the group. Members of staff are first aid trained

We aim to promote the holistic development of all those involved to develop resilience, confidence, independent and creative learners.
