Needlework includes embroidery, needlepoint, cross-stitch and dress making. It is handwork that requires a needle or sewing machine, thread or yarn to create an item of decorative or practical use.  Handwork develops focus and concentration by encouraging children to follow a process in order to complete a project. It enhances critical thinking and math skills, as well as increasing hand/eye coordination, small motor skills, and builds self-esteem.
